The purpose of the Skilled Migration Program is to attract highly employable individuals to migrate to Australia. It is the most common form of migration to Australia, and it is one of the core areas of VKIIM expertise.

Types of Skilled Subclasses:

SKILLED INDEPENDENT VISA (SUBCLASS 189)

Skilled Independent Visas are for points-tested skilled workers that do not require the applicant to be sponsored by an employer or family member or nominated by a state/territory government. It allows you to live as a permanent resident.

In order to apply for this visa option, you first need to lodge an Expression of Interest (EOI) through SkillSelect and must receive an invitation from the Department of Immigration to apply.

Within 60 days you must lodge your visa application after getting invited by the Department of Immigration, otherwise the invitation lapses. Moreover, you must have all your required documents ready as per the guidelines to lodge the application as soon as possible after receiving the invitation.

Visa Criteria

In order to get eligible for the subclass 189 visa, you need to have:
  • Lodge an EOI and get an invitation to apply.

  • Meet the minimum point requirement in the Skill Migration Point Test.

Eligible Family members that can be included

  • Spouse, de facto partner or same-sex partner

  • Dependent Children
